23-year-old England’s Melissa Reid finally entered the winner’s circle on last weekend, with a two-stroke victory at the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open.

"I have got my confidence back again. Back in the amateur days when I used to turn up to tournaments, I've kind of got that same kind of feel about myself," Reid said. "I feel like I can win now. In stark contrast to Turkey, which was a tight, tree lined layout, the 5844-metre par 72 course is much wider and players can let rip with the driver. 

 

 

"The girls are saying that now they can let themselves go and turn their shoulders a little bit," Reid said. "It's a tough golf course: it's in the best condition I've seen it in. The greens are really, really good. They are rolling nicely and it's playing a little bit longer because the course is a bit wet but I think that will favour the long hitters so it's a good test and it's going to be a good week." 

 

 

In the year of 2010, prize money is up 10 per cent on 2009 to 330,000 Euros and the winner will take home a 49,500 Euros first prize as well as an Audi A5 convertible, worth around 50,000 Euros. The hole in one prize on the 15th is an Audi R8 Spider, worth approximately 140,000 Euros. 

 

 

"Audi is my favourite car. I absolutely love them so an R8 would be a little treat I think." Reid said when she already drives an Audi Q5. "I'm feeling well and I would love to improve this year," said Eberl, who is expecting her first child in November and due to be married in August. Unfortunately Marti has not entered the tournament as she is expecting her second child.
